So I got an AACD in my AS levels, but all of the universities I have looked at and want to go to, require AAB/ABB for sports science. I got an A in Biology and Sports Science, a C in Travel & Tourism and a D in psychology... So done well in 2 of the subjects that the uni's really want.
I'm dropping psychology, and retaking Travel. When I apply to my universities soon, do they take into consideration that I am retaking a subject? ( I know I can get an A/B in travel.) If they don't take it into consideration, would they write me off straight away because of an AAC instead of an AAB/ABB??
Of course I know I have another year, but I'm just thinking about applications for now...

Universities do take it into consideration if you're retaking a subject - on UCAS you'll have to put the subject in twice - once with the grade you just got and one as 'pending'. Keep in mind that university entry requirements are based on your predicted grades and teachers usually predict a grade higher than what you get at AS so in your case you could be predicted anything from A*A*B to AAB/C depending on how high your As are. If you don't retake travel you can't realistically be predicted anything higher than a B, but since you want to retake, an A prediction can be justified by your teacher in your reference. Well done and good luck!
