Any David Eddings fans out there??? watch

    Hi,

I'm completely addicted to David Eddings' books, which I started reading about two years ago. Although in a literary context,Tolkein's 'Lord of the Rings' was probably a superior series, I think 'The Belgariad' and 'The Malloreon' far outstrip LOTR in terms of fast-paced, exciting storylines....and a good dose of humour, especially from Silk!!!

It would be cool to know that somebody else in the country has read these books, becuase no-one I know has even heard of them...and they are brilliant. A 'Belgariad' film would be cool.

Personally i think the Elenium is his finest series though the ones you mention are quite good, though they do run out of steam towards the end. Id steer clear of his latest works though, theyre utter dross.

I've not read the Elenium or the Tamuli (not been able to get hold of them) but yes, the Mallorean is a bit repetitive of the the Belgariad, I must agree. The one flaw in Eddings' work is that it's slightly formulaic. But a good read nevertheless!

Yes the main flaw in his work is its formulaic nature. David Gemmel is guilty of this also but hes a good read regardless.
