Hi, I got 6 Bs and 4Cs at GCSE and was disappointed. I decided to work hard this year whilst studying Politics, Economics and German. I started light revision really early perhaps in October and worked really hard all year including going to a language school for 2 weeks to improve my German. From March I was doing a good 4/5 hours of study e.g flashcards etc every day.

Today I got my results, BBB ( Politics 159 UMS, going for a remark as need 160 for A, German 158 UMS, going for a remark as need 160 for an A and then Economics 103/140 and needed 107 for an A- considering a remark?)

Maybe I will end up with AAB after getting my remarks if I am lucky however I still feel deflated! I can not think of what I could have done better other than do a good 5 hours a day from septembe- maybe I should do this next year.

I would like A*AA/A*A*A next year so really need to work harder but how can I haha. Will my grades restrict me from acheiving this and any tips??

You are very unlucky to have narrowly missed AAA.

It's very difficult for essay based subjects, but it's not necessarily how long you study for or how much you know, but also how you apply it and answer things in the exam. You need to look at the exam and ask teachers or whoever else knows about what makes an A* essay / exam paper and how you can work on getting that. If you do that, there is no reason to not get A*AA or A*A*A - this year's grades shouldn't hold you back too much because of how getting an A* works.

...and if any students, on this forum perhaps, that have done those subjects and got an A* and can give you advice... that would be great.

    Good luck!

Have a friend who got the same,Chances are that one module out of the three modules per paper didn't go so well and may have dragged your grade down.CCC is not good nor bad,But you can resit a few papers to bring your grades up.I got BCC and will be resiting 2/3 papers in Jan.

I need help. My AS grades are BCC and i cant get into the mindset of being satsified with my C's.
I'm really considering sending them for a remark but one of the C's is 12 marks away from a B. Do you think its possible to go to a B?

I missed grade B at maths by 11 marks and in 2 of the exams I was close to a B and in the other I got a low C
