Small 'spots' after clean-shaving

Usually about 24hours after clean shaving, i.e. using a blade (mach3) to shave my face, I get a few very small 'spots' every time in the same place, but no where else.

I always get these small spots which are filled with that white fluid stuff. It is always in the area directly below the mouth and directly above the chin, i.e. on the area where some men have a "goatee"

I use a mach 3 & blade, and gilette shaving gel w/ moisturising effect. I only shave once a week, and always after having a shower.

Since this started happening, after shaving, I started to wash my face with my very mild cleaning face wash (nivea visage) however I still, around a day after shaving, get these small spots filled with that nasty white stuff.

After getting rid of the white stuff i.e. getting rid of the small spots, they heal within a day, and then when stubble has re-grown, the spots do not come again till the next time i clean shave.

I have no other spots on my face, I generally get no spots, and I have never suffered from acne. I am 20 years old.

I shave my entire face this way, however I only get these spots in the same specific area almost every time, id say 8/10 times?

Does anyone know why this happens, and what I could do to stop/prevent it?

Thanks

Make sure you wash your face propperly after you shave. Its more than likely tiny cuts from shaving, or where hairs have been pulled out (sometimes happens) getting shaving cream/soap in them.

I get them sumtimes but not very often, thats why I started having a propper wash after i shave (even if i have had a bath before). Make sure you use fresh clean water.

Hope it helps, if not, meh its not the end of the world

Exfoliation  with an exfoliating glove or scrub.

I get them as well. I never linked it to shaving though. In fact, I never linked it to anything as I never thought about it, because it's a daft problem.

Do you shave against the grain? I only get it if I shave against the grain. Shaving against the grain is generally not recommended.

I'm pretty sure they're ingrown hairs - you'll get them less the more you shave and you could use a razor that doesn't shave so close to prevent them. As LennonMcCartney said too - if you're shaving against the grain, that's the most likely cause - stop.
