Where does your student loan go? Need help from University Student

So as i'm going uni next month, i just wanted to see where your student loan / money goes?

Social p/w: Varies (I don't go out)
Phone: (please specify cost annually or montly): My parents pay it but it's £36 a month for an iPhone 6.

Grooming (haircuts, shampoo): (please specify rougly how much per month): Probably like £30-40 for shamoo and body wash and stuff like tha


tI get the minimum loan which only just covers my rent ( I have £22 left over after rent) . My parents give me £200 a month and I have three part time jobs

Obviously the amount will differ depending on person and what not;

- Location: Lincoln
- Rent P/W: £85 (£385) - Student House
- Food P/W: £15
- Transport P/W: £20 - Own Car
- Social P/W: £30 - Depending
- Phone (Monthly): £45 (iPhone 6, 3, Unlimited Texts, Calls, Internet)
- Gym/Sports Membership: £25 a month or £100 for the year in Freshers Week
- Other Memberships: £60 (Insurance and AA Membership)
- Grooming: Free (Mother Cuts My Hair)

Like I said, it's difficult to get an accurate read out as it's different for every person so it won't be as accurate as you until you get to university.

I've left now but may help so.


University Location within UK: Bristol
Rent p/w: £135-170 (latter was catered halls, former was shared housing)
Food p/w: £20-30
Transport p/w: Up to £25 for car petrol (but didn't use it for uni, just walked there so don't count this)
Social p/w: £10-20
Phone: (please specify cost annually or montly) Didn't pay mine but £20 PM (phone bought outright)
Gym/Sports membership: (please specify if annual or monthly cost) ours was £185/290 per year (off and on peak). Get off peak or shop around if
you need cheaper.
Other memberships (please specify which and how much) any club memberships I had. Varied from £10 PY up to about £200 in first year (joined lots, and cheer which was expensive)

Grooming (haircuts, shampoo): (please specify rougly how much per month) ~£3 PM at most - cut my own hair.
