Got a clearing offer for my preferred uni but accidentally clicked adjustment on UCAS watch

I applied for Cardiff as my firm, and put Aber as my insurance, since I originally wanted to go to Swansea since it's close to where I live, but I got rejected. Tried my luck in clearing, and got a clearing offer which I have to accept within 48 hours.

However, prior to receiving this offer, I tried adjustment out on UCAS to see what it does, and found there's no way to leave adjustment by myself.

So wondering how I will be able to accept my clearing offer in this condition

If you call Swansea (I assume that's the one you got a clearing place at?) they might be able to make that change for you, but either way you will probably need to make a new clearing application. It's up to Swansea whether or not they hold that place for you.

If you had the adjustment option on Track then you must be currently UF with Cardiff.

Have you contacted Cardiff to ask to be placed into Clearing? If not then you wont be able to refer yourself to Swansea.

Adjustment will just time out after 5 days - if Cardiff place you in clearing then that will pull you out of adjustment

Swansea can't really do anything while the OP is UF with Cardiff.

I've phoned their CS department and a lecturer said she can put a note on my clearing application to say I need more time to accept the offer. Adjustment ends midnight 23rd, so I should be able to wait till then, then phone Cardiff/Aber to ask to be released, then apply for clearing on UCAS.

You don't have to wait until adjustment ends to contact Cardiff - you should have contacted them yesterday before approaching Swansea.

Ring them now and ask to be placed into clearing ASAP.

You should be able to sort this out today and get your Swansea place sorted before the weekend
