HelloI achieved an A* in maths, A in further maths and an E in additional further maths (2 marks away from a D). I had to do the full two year additional further maths course in 4 months without a teacher. If I had two years, I am sure I would've done better.I tried to call universities for clearing but couldn't get any offers, a lot of them didn't want to hear my circumstance and said that I need the grades. I don't know what I am going to do anymore. Any advice?

There's even such a thing as additional further math available at A level? In any case, you've done a great job. What about your original 5 choices and your other A levels? With such grades surely there's a lot of options for you

Unfortunately a lot of Universities are like that. It is unlikely you'll get an offer from one of the popular universities if you have an E grade in anything, mostly regardless of your circumstances.

    Your options are:
Apply to lesser known universities who have spaces (such as through clearing).
Resit your Further Additional Maths exams and achieve the grade you deserve, and apply for 2017 entry.
You could also phone the universities you applied for and explain your circumstances - on the phone people are much more sympathetic; it is unlikely you'll get offered a place but it's worth the try!

    I wish you the best.
