red bloodshot ring around eye?

Over the last few days I've noticed some kind of red bloodshot ring around my left eye. Just under the coloured part of my eye (sorry I'm good with names :p: ) it's not painful or anything, it just looks a right mess! my other eye is (at the moment) fine! I am going to the doctors on monday afternoon, but just wondering if anyone knew anything to put my mind at rest until then?

Any help would be great x

I watch House a lot, and have all the seasons on DVD. From watching it a lot, I conclude that you have Wilson's disease, one of the symptoms of which is what you described. See a doc!

I seriously doubt it, many people get blood shot eyes due to blood vessles bursting or having a small minor eye infection. Just because someone had a blood shot eye on house which was a symptom for that disease doesn't mean everyone who has a poor eye has some form of disease.
Op- As everyone else said it's probably a burst blood vessel, nothing to worry about, see a doctor if you get worried.

As I always suggest - hayfever?

OP do you wear contacts? because i do and i had very bloodshot eyes a few months back. Was like a ring around my iris i think it is

went to opticians after about 1.5 weeks of bloodshot eyes (gradually getting worse) and discovered i had viral conjunctivitis because the lenses had gotten contaminated which i was unaware of

so maybe if you wear lenses, they could be contaminated like mine were, and it could be viral conjunctivitis. If you do wear lenses, i suggest going to the optician/contacts specialist immediately and getting them to check you over. They will probably know what they're talking about more than the doctor
