    Hey,

I've got a place at Essex which is my insurance but after a friend of mine got their place at Kent he said I should call. I called (well applied online) and to my surprise I got a call from a lecturer about an hour later, she talked about the course which is Business Administation with English Language and Linguistics, asked me why I would want to study it and why Kent etc. Then, she advised me she'd offer me a place.

Thing is this whole thing feels really rushed, I've not seen Kent I'm only going off what my friend has said and I've been to Essex and liked it enough to put it as my insurance. I've got an offer for English Language and Linguistics there.

What should I do? Trust my friend and take a risk or go to Essex which I know I like but it isn't as highly ranked.

I've only got 24 hours to make my mind up which is scary, I've also got a remark coming through which if that comes through Queens University Belfast said they would take me.

Stay at Essex, I trust my friends but not to the extent of ruining my future loool, you haven't visited Kent so you don't even know if you will like it. I picked Essex as my firm and it looks great from what I've seen, Kent was my firm before but before I went to visit it loads of people told me it was very boring and the social life is dead and they weren't wrong. I suggest you go to Essex and just visit your friend when you have time, if you do like it then transfer for second year, that way you don't feel like you've wasted an opportunity.
