Finding flatmates seems to be an impossible task on TSR, but we may as well try. I'm Alex, I'm studying Law and I'm at Flat 02, Constantine C1.

Post your flat and/or block if you wish, and even if this doesn't work out, at least there might be a few more familiar people around when we start next month.

Personally I wouldn't trust any group on Facebook which you aren't told about from the uni directly. Chances are it'll be a data mining exercise or they will try and sell you tickets to 'official' events which never happen.

I found the official general Constantine Facebook group, for all years (it's well established): https://www.facebook.com/groups/constantine14/

And these are the official groups for each of the accommodation blocks:

I followed a trail of hyperlinks from this page: https://www.facebook.com/ConstantineCollegeSA/. I also looked extensively through the main group page (this one: https://www.facebook.com/groups/constantine14/) and it's clearly real. The fake, presumably-data-grabbing ones always look generic (with header images of standard, non-specific student accommodation), and the hosts are nobodies. The hosts of these groups are actual York students - it's as official as it'll get. I've joined, been approved and had no issues.

Edit: just looked and the official Constantine website links to the group, which in turn links to everything else

Does anyone think it's worth going to the formal?

It's expensive, but I think it'll be worth it - it's 'only' £25 extra (if I remember correctly) compared to the normal ticket, and as my flatmates liked to point out, you're only a fresher once. That being said, I might have to live off textbooks rather than food for a while now...
