So I got my AS results and, as expected, I got my UMS for maths as it is an unreformed a level so it still counts towards my final A Level. But I think I also got UMS ( or maybe it's the raw mark?) for Biology, which I wasn't expecting, but none for chemistry or economics ( all 3 are reformed a levels). Why didn't I get UMS for Chemistry or Economics or am I just reading the sheet horribly wrong?

Sorry you've not had any responses about this. Are you sure you've posted in the right place? Here's a link to our subject forum which should help get you more responses if you post there.

You can also find the Exam Thread list for A-levels here and GCSE here. :dumbells:

****ing Salters Chemistry? What were your teachers smoking when they chose that course for you.

Anyways, this is the first year of the new AS, so there won't be any UMS marks. UMS marks are used to compare between exams over different years. Since the exams now are different, comparison now is impossible. There will be UMS next year for AS, I think.

It's all to do with which exam board it is. The original plan was that (in common with previous linear qualifications) there would only be a grade. In the end, Edexcel have supplied a raw mark, I think OCR has too, AQA hasn't and I don't know about the other boards.
