nobody would disagree with you or get offended. However, say that factory farm animals are treated like holocaust victims then everyone loses their **** and gets offended.

Even though both statements are saying the same thing and both are true. It just makes no sense.

Well they are essentially equivalent statements but obviously people don't understand language in an entirely logical fashion and you can't expect them to.

why not? why do people get offended by the truth?

The statement 'factory farm animals are treated equivalently to holocaust victims' is completely true. The nazis actually studied factory farms to come up with the 'final solution' and based concentration camps on them.

Because people will see it as you trying to equate the level of suffering/the horror of factory farming and the holocaust in a cheap bid to guilt people who eat meat/animal products. Obviously if we take your statement at face value, we can't deduce this much, but people interpret things with certain biases and preconceptions, most of all the preconception that someone making a statement has a reason to make that statement. People will try to figure out that reason.
For the record, I'm not at all offended. But trying to explain.
