Hi I am new to this, in many ways. I will be a mature student and at present am claiming JSA following ESA, which I no longer qualify for.
I will be taking a full time Acess to HE course in Sept, will I still qualify for JSA and the housing benefit I currently receive?

    Any advice will be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi there.

It's unlikely the funding for an access course will affect your entitlement to benefits.

Funding for access courses is awarded by the Advanced Learner Loans team (0300 100 0619) who only award fees for the courses.

I don't believe the Jobcentre would include this in their calculations as no funds actually go to you, however, it may be worthwhile contacting them directly to establish if they will for sure.

    Thanks
