I am so annoyed with student finance. The way they work out how much maintenance loan you're entitled to is absolutely ridiculous. Because my parents earn what they consider to be a lot student finance won't give me a lot of money. My parents don't even want me to go to uni so they refuse to help. They want me to get a job and pay "rent". I'm barely going to have enough money for course materials and travel at this rate! Is there anyway around student finance's decision? I'm paying it all back eventually anyway.

There's no way around it, unless you work full time 3 years before applying.

Many students need to get a job to help with uni living costs.

You're just going to have to get a part time job to help cover your expenses along with the amount student finance gave you.
