hey,
I got my AS results and was immensely shocked i got a U in accounting, U in maths, E in economics and a D in business, i want to do a finance course in uni and a career in banking or my 2nd option to become an accountant, my college gave me an option to drop the Us and take up another a level and which means to do it in one year, i was thinking to do sociology, should i do this? or retake the whole year, also if i do choose to take sociology will unis accept me? maybe if i apply for a foundation level finance course would that mean i would get an offer this year? I was also thinking to do an apprenticeships as there are lots of banking and accountancy ones , but i have no idea when i would apply this year or next year? however this is my last choice.. I urgently need some advice..
Thank you so much

Hello, if you aren't at all happy with your results, even with the D and E I would suggest resitting the year but doing different subjects. However if you want to go to university come next year and are prepared to work your socks off this year, I would suggest doing another A level.I did Sociology, and you either find the subject hard or very easy. It requires a fair amount of revision and memorising, but if you work at it, you will get very good grades. Doing all modules in one year will be challenging so I would suggest buying all the textbooks and looking over past papers as soon as you can if you decide to do it. I would suggest resitting one economics paper and if you can resubmitting business coursework. If you decide to go down this route, it will require a tonne of work but if you are organised and dedicated it will pay off. Best of luck

Forgot to add, if you are going to go ahead with your a levels this year, apply for uni this year. If you are not, and want to resit, you could apply for deferred entry this year whilst you are sitting your AS's or leave it until the following year. Hope i've helped

Retake, it might seem like a waste of a year, but trust me, you'll be glad that you did (unless you do bad in your exams again). And also, sociology is a joke of a subject so stay away from it.
