B Physics (6 UMS short of an A)

First and Insurance choices have both said no (Oxford and Bath) but yes
to 2017 if Physics is upgraded to an A after remoderation

College is having Physics course work remoderated which takes 40 working days so well after 2016 UCAS deadline - what are the chances this will be improved to an A anyone?

If Physics remains at a B and I re apply next year to other Universities do you
think I would get unconditional offers from those who require AAA or even A*AA
    such as Bristol and Bath.

Should I plan to resit Physics - will that make a difference to good Universities?

Should I plan to do a STEP paper which may give me a conditional offer from a
    top university?

    Any advice would be appreciated

I think if you reapplied they would either ask you to sit another a level like additional further maths or give you a high offer in step. But for top uni's you cannot take a levels over 3 years, they don't accept it. Perhaps ring up/ email the ATs and see what they say
