I was ill this year and my school is aware of this. I was not able to work to my full ability and therefore achieved lower than expected in my results. After approaching my school for a chance to retake I was told I could but not with the sciences. I, wanting to go into medicine, cannot go on without chemistry. After treatment I feel and Am more motivated and able to achieve higher but even so I am unable to do the subjects I want as my school still denies me the chance to even though they are aware of my issues. Also would retaking ruin my chances of medicine?

Universities don't usually allow retakes unless you had some sort of mitigating circumstance and your school made the exam board aware of this. The best thing to do is to email universities

Is it possible to take your exams at an external centre? If you know the dates of Y13 exams already, you might be able to schedule them so you don't have a clash in the summer. My school didn't offer January resits, so I had to go through that route

I'm surprised they aren't letting you resit if you had medical issues, tbh
