I have received bbb for maths, chemistry and biology. It is with extreme disappointment that I missed both my firm and insurance for chem eng at Manchester/Nottingham. Ideally, I hope to resit at a private center, retaking the 4/5 modules that really let me down. What are the likelihoods of those unis giving an offer during the gap year.

Quite high. Manchester may be harder due to so many applicants but hopefully you can have another go at it

From my experience Manchester might give you another shot. I certainly got an offer in a gap year retake for Physics and having applied there before should not be held against you unless it explicitly states so under the ChemEng entry requirements. If you want any other advice about UCAS as a retake student just ask away.

If i were to retake privately , then could my hired tutor act as a referee for my application? Also was the new offer higher than the previous one? Lastly what general advice would you give for someone in my position?
