Samsung galaxy note 4? It came out like a year and a half ago, but you can get it for a decent price handset only, and its an amazing phone, you won't regret it!

Quad HD (2k) screen, able to record in 4k, super amoled screen, the quality of colours is amazing, just a good phone,

I am biased cos I have one but tis good

I'm sorry it wasn't my intention - my sister goes to Surrey university and said it's useful for them to have a Windows phone to edit documents easily. I didn't know if the same was true of other universities

Low budget - max of £300 but preferably as little as possible.

The phone I currently have is android, but I haven't used any others (and can't afford iOS) so can't really say

If I had said any other university, no-one would've picked it up.. I'm honestly not trying to show off, I just thought that if I stated which university I was going to, then the comments may be more specific to the nature of the particular university's teaching methods.

Nexus 5x 32GB (around 235 quid on amazon sim free)
Moto G4 (around 160 quid sim free from carphone warehouse)

Oneplus 3 (330 quid, super amazing for the price, obviously only if you can afford it)

Battery never runs out, I bought mine 20 years and it hasn't needed a single charge since.
