I got bitten by something in the park. Please help!

I was in the Park on Tuesday evening when I was bitten, or stung by something on my leg.

At the time I it hurt like hell, but my boyfriend just told me I was being a right cry baby when its just a bug bite.

Its now Friday and the bite has caused a huge red swelling on my leg which feels like a bruise and I can't walk with my right leg because it causes aches.

Does anyone know what it could be? apart from the one on my leg, I have two others bug bites but these ones are really tiny and doesn't hurt unlike the one on my right leg.

Also can anyone suggest something I can buy for the weekend to help these bites because I wont be able to see the doctor til Monday.

Here's a picture of the bite:

My cousin had that but on the two soles of her feet, and you have to go to the doctors and getsome antibiotics and stuff no other option x

Take some antihistamine like piriton, and some antiinflammatory like nurofen and go to the doctors on monday if its not better.

perhaps you're allergic to whatever has stung you? Go see a doctor, you shouldn't feel pain from a bug bite after a few days.

When I get bitten by mossies my bites go like that. I put ice on them to take the itch out and have learnt that I can now just leave the bite to go away itself but if it's the first time you've been got like that it'd be worth seeing the doc!

i would say try antihistamines, like scaredashell, that should help

Sudocrem may ease the pain to the immediate area.

Maybe it was a horsefly?

I got bitten by one early in the summer and it caned for a good week. Well... itched really. But it was a massive chunk the little ****er took. Were you near water?

Mr and Mrs Duck???

lol, i dont think mr and mrs duck would be quite that aggressive, but you never know.
seriously though, loads of the bites I had on holiday swelled up like that, probably a mozzy, i just put antiseptic cream on them and desperately tried not to scratch, they faded away after a bit (although just reading this topic is making me feel all itchy...)

Dont wanna scare you, the chances are minimum, but it might be good idea to go see a doctor if it persists / you start feeling sick whatever. My mum got borreliosis this way, (everyone thinks you can only get this from ticks, which is not necessarily true).

How long did the bite mark stay before it went away?

Don't scratch it if it itches

That horse flys looks so ugly!

My bite don't itch, it just feels like a huge bruise.

I can now walk properly but I can't touch the surround area of the bite because it causes pain.

And no, I wasn't near water. I was surround by grass and weeds do. Do you think its possible that I got stung by nettles ?
