Summer's almost over and I've spent the past week looking online for Part-Time jobs. I've applied to about 12 places, mostly small shops either food or retail e.g. Costa, but I've been rejected 3x and 2x by Boots from the people that have actually replied to me. The rest have yet to reply, not sure whether I'm not good enough or there hasn't been enough time yet. Are there any of you who are in my situation (or have been) and have been successful in getting a job? At least an interview? If not should I wait until I turn 16 which is in early October this year?

Hey, I got my NI number today in the post. I would advise asking your family/friends for a part-time job as it would be easier rather than trying to find a job with Starbucks Coffee for example but keep trying.

At your age rather than applying online to the big companies which sometimes automatically reject if they see you're under 16, hand in your CV to local shops and restaurants

That's something I'm really considering, I'm just a bit unsure whether it will work and who to give the CV to; should I ask to see the manager or just give it to the staff? But since online isn't working out, that's probably my next move.

You could say can I see the manager. What always works is ask them if they have any vacancies then if they say yes give your CV in and write the times you'd be available on the back of it, or if they say no say alright can I leave this here anyway

wait til you're 16, no one will hire you for a proper job til then... to be honest you'll struggle til you leave school but it's still worth a try once you're 16
