Alcohol lowers blood sugar and may increase the risk of lactic acidosis

Alcohol stops gluconeogenesis and with metfomin lowering blood sugar too, it'd be dangerous to have both effects. If u went too low, you'd have no way to bring urself up again and could go into a coma (eventually).

Having said that, I'm diabetic and still do it :smile: I can always advice, I'm just a hypocrite!

:mute: A month without alcohol isn't that bad...

I've not had a drink since the beginning of March and I'm still alive! :p:

Thanks - yeah, I know it's a month...during term time it wouldn't bother me so much, but it's the summer, when I normally drink more, so I retain my right to :frown:

Ok, I'll stay off it for the month.
