I'm going to be starting comp sci at city this sept.

For the first years that went through would anyone mind guiding me to books and resources or things to do to get ahead of the game?

    Thanks!

First year you should normally learn programming, maths, web development, networking etc, every uni is different.

To stay ahead of the game and employment, I would highly recommend you to read this thread, especially the first and last post:

From 2nd/3rd year onwards, build your own projects and show them on GitHub: video games, apps, websites.

    Good Luck
