ABBD at AS, what are my chances to get into UCL, York, St Andrews or Nottingham Watch

Hey, I recently got my AS results and was wondering wether they're good enough to get into the unis listed above to do English...
    Sociology: A
    English Lit: B
    History: B
Creative Writing: D (This was abit of a shock considering I was averaging a B throughout the year and teacher was targeting me a B/A ... Therefore planning on getting remarked.)

Worrying my grades aren't good enough. If my predicted grades where A*AA, what are my chances? Especially as AS grades are no longer as highly valued due to recent decoupling of A2 and AS..

Btw entry requirements for English at all unis are AAA.

    Thanks Jo

You might get a chance still to get into York or Nottingham, but not the others.

I'd say your chances are just as good as anyone else's.

My AS results were CCCD after predicted grades of A's and B's.
I resat some alongside my A levels this year and left school with A*AAC

Why not UCL? Do you reckon I could make it up with my personal statement?
It's just that is my preferred choice...:/

I am a UCL alumni, but in a different subject. UCL is ultra hard to get into for the most sought for subjects, such as the arts. If you were going for some unknown Sciences subject then you would have had a much better chance. UCL is a special university, and one of the top 5 in the UK.

Okay Thank you ... I probably will apply just as I've always wanted to go and it can't hurt.

    Thanks for the help
