I had my interview on Saturday and I got the job. I am supposed to have my induction on Monday.

What kind of tasks do they usually do on the induction days? What should I expect (I am supposed to work at the Foodhall)?

Does anyone know when people are supposed to receive a formal offer of employment and contract?

    Hi there!
Hope your induction went well! If you don't mind me asking, how long did yours last? & did you get paid for the day?
    Thanks! :-)

Induction -training days normally take 2 days You do get paid but the way they work you sometimes get it at the end of your contract or if you go onto permanent staff. The training is health and safety, alcohol training seeing various videos. Store tour . Till training etc. Its not too bad

Can anyone tell me how M&S calculate holiday pay? I am on a temporary contract until April 1st, 2017. My contracted hours are 24.5hrs per week. I have managed to stick the job for 6 weeks and during that time I have taken on extra hours and had a days leave which equates to 6.5hrs. Thanks.

Be prepared to be treated like s*** by the snobby customers.

Didn't have any problems with the customers, it was my manager who caused me the greatest frustrations!
