Hey guys! These couple of days I've seen the madness of A levels, people getting in, people not reaching the grades they needed... I've been wondering about my A level options since I'm going to be done with my GCSEs next year. So here's my case: I'm Spanish and to make my life easier, I picked Spanish as one of my options for GCSEs, which means that I already have an A* secured in one of my grades. The top universities require at least one A* and I believe Spanish would help me. The thing is, I have been thinking about taking Spanish for A levels as well so I can have a bit of "advantage" and focus only on two subjects when I go to Sixth Form. Is it a good idea? Are there any disadvantages about it or is it all okay? I would like to see opinions

Quite a few top universities would generally not include Spanish as part of your offer as it is your mother tongue.

That won't work, a GCSE/A level in your native language doesn't really count

What if the course I choose doesn't need any subject as an offer but just the grades? I would like to do a combination of Journalism + Media and Communications and in a uni I saw they don't require any subject, but if you pick a modern foreign language for A levels then you have to get a minimum of a C or above. They basically need ABB. Does that count?
