I don't know all but I believe Newcastle/Durham, Southampton, KCL, Edingborough. Also pretty sure Exeter and Plymouth are. But check each uni first

    Hi Usaamah,

If you would like more info on each university using UKCAT then have a look at this page. You will find a list of all Unis using the test and how they use it.

You need to update your page for Nottingham. It is out of 30 not 39

Exeter used to be, but it doesn't seem like they are anymore with the whole tier system. Nottingham's quite UKCAT heavy too, right?

I think it's more to what extent they are 'heavy' as Kings is classified as heavy but really anything 670+ seems fine to them as long as GCSEs are good. Edinburgh is the heaviest I think with it forming 35% of the application. Nottingham is quite 'centred' on the UKCAT among other things.

General consensus is Newcastle, Southampton, exeter, Sheffield and Glasgow are UKCAT heavy as they rank candidates based on only the UKCAT score after all other requirements are met, that does not mean that you can only get an interview with over 700 though.

is it true that sheffield now rank by ukcat for interview selection? I read on natalierm2707/s blog that they do now, but can't find the update on the website (I'm probably being dumb and not looking hard enough)
Yes it is officially a UKCAT heavy university for the first time this year. They rank people based on their score and have stated that a score of about 2,030 would've been fine for the 2015/2016 cycle had this system been implemented then. About an average of 676.7.

ah ok, would having a high score e.g. 767 give you a much better chance of getting an interview than getting 2030/676? or would getting the minimum be enough? just because I would really like to apply to my strengths

I mean obviously the higher, the most likely you'll get an interview but I'd say anything from 680+ is safe for Sheffield
