MMA and Submission wrestling in Newcastle??

From september on, I'll be in the Newcastle area, as an international student. There are reportedly 4 different clubs when it comes to MMA or submission wrestling.

A muay thai-oriented club, with a tough reputation. They train in MMA

Gracie Barra Newcastle, Vale Tudo and submission wrestling.

Phoenix mma, vale tudo and grappling.

I don't know if there's a connection between the muay thai club and gracie barra newcastle, but they advertise each other.
I'm planning on training seriously, I'm sure I'm gonna train in at least 2 of these clubs.
My goal is to find a true mma gym, not a tma-oriented place, with a special emphasis on ground and pound, wrestling, and with a lot of competitors.
I'm planning on traning seriously, I'm very dedicated.

What's your opinion? Do you have some feedback?

the best gym for Muay Thai in the region is Sorthanikul, they have a list of champions longer than your arm and the training is very good and also friendly for beginners.

within Sor thanikul there is an MMA club called the knuckle draggers. This is coached by Peter Irving who holds to european titles and a british title. The training is in a safe and there is a friendly enviroment and everyone is welcome, I have attended all the clubs in the area and i have found this one to be by far the best.

Try them all and see which works best for you.

I've trained at Sor Thanikol and the atmosphere wasn't for me.

There is also Cyclone martial arts which is an awesome club in the west end. The website says wingchun but the training is very much MMA. The instructor has just got back from training BJJ in Brazil. great atmosphere.

There is also the Faktory for Muay Thai, the instructor teaches at Newcastle Uni too. Great facility also in the westend of newcastle.
