    Which came about first?

Look at people who are thought to have been EU's founding fathers. They were communists, some being Jews and if not at least connected to them in some way like marriage.

Communists were anti-fascists. Fascists were anti-communism. Many of us rightfully opposed both. Communism was committing Holocausts and putting people to death in work camps long before the Nazi's ever came to power.. don't forget this.

I think what happened during WW2 was Hitler and Stalin had a tenuous alignment when it came to dividing Poland among themselves 50/50. Then Stalin received numerous reports that Hitler was going to invade USSR poland and the mainland but for some reason he disregarded the warnings. Then Hitler attacked first and took Stalin off guard.

Of course from the election at the beginning of the 1930s the Nazis were building a lot of support from the claim they would protect Germany against the communists. He could have been planning the invasion of Russia from the beginning.

The 'communists' were only interested in organizing their own countries in the 20th century which had disastrous consequences. It was the fascists who wanted to invade other countries to expand the lebensraum.

    Fascists were resisting communism.
Yes. That's why Germany invaded Russia and Japan invaded China. They were protecting themselves.

I meant in terms of the ideologies. Fascist nations were generally quite expansionist themselves.

Fascism arose out of units such as the Freikorps in Germany and the various other armed resistance in Italy to attempts by communists to arise control of their respective countries. Hitler does not come into it
