Topman website - out of stock!

ok well this is going to be a little bit of a rant but just wanted to see if anyone else has the same problem as i do.

Everytime i go onto the topman website and try to order something for example 3 t-shirts, i went and selected my size, and every time no matter when i go on that website they are out of stock.

the same thing happens with some of their underwear i tried to order. every time i go there its out of stock. i check back 2 weeks later and still out of stock.

surely they must have at least some deliveries of stock more than once a week!!! its not like its a small company!

any one encounter problems like this?

i only use the website because the nearest shop to me is 20 miles away and even then they don't have all the items displayed on the website.

I wouldn't know about Topman, but I've always noticed the same thing with Dorothy Perkins - so I'd say that it's a general thing to do with Arcadia?
yeah arcadia group do tend to be a bit crap! and yeah i've tried emailing them but haven't had a response back yet.

surely their on-line store operates from their distribution centres??? or at least it would make sense if it did seeing as that's where all the stock would be kept?

glad to know i'm not the only person who has issues with on-line stores.. yet they say on-line shopping is on the increase! HOW... you need to have stock to have the on-line shoppers!

*rant over*

I know what you mean, the first time i tried to order from their website it was a nightmare - things I wanted were ALL out of stock, like you, and when I did make my final choice and went through the whole transaction, there were still items that I had ordered that were unavailable. However, instead of telling me, the order just never arrived. I was clueless as to whether I had been charged or anything (turned out I hadn't of course).

Having said that, I've ordered with them twice since, and had no problems (and the order has arrived within 2 days) so I gues its as much about as luck as anything else.

They never run out of larger sizes but the Small and belows sell out instantaneously. It's annoying. And then they hardly ever get more in.
that would definitely explain why i can't get small or medium clothes on their website.... i must put on weight!!!

also the other shocking thing is they do xxs underwear.... now a small is 28 - 30 inch waist ... are people any skinnier than that!!!

I know it's obscene. I'm sure they never did anything below a small until relatively recently. I am very small so I recently bought a shirt that was XS to see what the difference was...this thing was incredibly tight, had to send it back. I'm a 30 inch waist and the rest of my body is the appropriate proportions to that. They must either be aimed at younger teens or just ultra-thin people.

well i'm a 28 - 29 inch waist but i have sort legs and a really long body so i'm really out of proportion means small trousers and stuff but either medium or large tops. but xs and xxs must be going down to 24 inch waists and i don't know anyone that skinny...

probably aimed at younger teens then... because i can't see why else they would make things so small (although if i were that size i'd have no problem ordering clothes because they have lots of those!!)

This is probably the best thing that has happened to you, steer clear of Topman!

I find this sometimes happens with Dorothy Perkins, so what I usually do is check once a day for the stuff I want (sometimes more often) until the stuff comes up in the size I want. It usually comes up in the right size later the same day or the following day...it's no good just checking once a week.
i'll keep trying, see if i have any more luck... i've emailed them so hopefully someone will tell me when everything is updated... probably Monday at some point because i doubt they have people in at weekends running the website.
I'm currently watching out for a coat to come in stock in a size 6 on the Topshop website and it updated yesterday (unfortunately only to a size 8!)
They don't have an unlimited stock.. and with the amount of people I see everyday looking like a Topman clone, I'm not surprised. :nn:
Happens with the Topshop website all the time. It comes from being a common size.

Yeah, I've noticed this. I think it may be just that they're offloading stock ready for the new season, and they're not bothering to restock any more.

Bah, attempted to order a couple of things from Dorothy Perkins. Firstly, the website let me select a quantity but then told me that they didn't have any available. Then, I ordered 2 items which were apparently in stock, and so my order was confirmend. Now today, I get this email:

"We are sorry to inform you that unfortunately part of your order [order number] was unavailable to dispatch. You have not been charged for those item(s)."

Grrr, I hate their stock management system

I decided to rant at them via their contact form, so I'll let you all know if I get a reply...

I'm still not amused with them, though
