I don't really understand why it's so bad to have sex whilst on period? It really confuses my girlfriend that I think so but why would it be such an issue?

I know it's messier, but you just need to be more cautious and not freak out over the potential sight of blood..Sex is sex and If my partner is ok with it, I would be willing to see past the blood if I can make love to my girlfriend!
