I've heard certain hair oils help with hair loss and thinning hair.
I have a problem with thinning hair and receeding hair line.
Ive started the oil and some hair vitamins for a week or so now. Too early for results but ive heard it helps.

Thanks for telling me about my experience. I'm actually male so was wondering if there were guys my age using any of these.

Hmm, Propecia sounds like a urination aid.

Who knows, Sal. C'est contra-indicated for women though; too androgenous.

OP:
Propecia has few side effects, a ~48% regrowth rate, a ~42% "no further hair loss" rate and a ~10% no effect rate. Minoxidil, on the other hand, has many side effects - unsurprising, given that it was developed as a vasodilation aid for asthma sufferers - such as further hair loss(!), scalp acne and hypotension. Haven't you discussed your hair loss and treatment options with your GP or a specialist?

Hey, yeah I tried some oils for a while and scalp massage but my trichologist told me that this can actually make it worse so I stopped it. I have heard of others who have had good results with it though.

I have heard of minoxidil causing what people call the dread shead, however this is only supposed to last a short while (I didnt experience this dread shead though). I didnt experience the other side effects you mentioned either however my progress was monitored by my trichologist.
I agree that you shouldnt try to treat hairloss alone, it is best to see your GP and ask to be referred to a trichologist as they know how best to treat hairloss.
