Coldsore

I've had a coldsore on the very corner of my mouth for about 2 months now. To begin with, I didn't do anything about it in the hope it would disappear by itself. I then started to pick at it a bit as the skin became very dry, cracked and irritable. I then went to the chemist just over a week ago and bought some Zovirax, but it hasn't helped at all. In fact, it seems to have made it worse. I have been in the sun a bit and have got quite tanned, but does anyone know why its not shifting?

dont know why it wont shift, im not a doctor. there r other products u can get down the pharmacy if you go and ask, maybe the zovirax just isnt working for you, otherwise go see a doctor...thats what theyre paid for.

^ most useful advice ever :p:

Try cymex cream for coldsores, that relieves the cracking of coldsores. 2 months is a long time to have a coldsore though :/
The zovirax won't really do much for you as it's already broke out and the virus has done it's damage. You're best to use cymex cream or blistex relief cream to help it heal and stop it gettin infected.
I feel for you, i get coldsores aswell and they SUCK ASS!
Compeed Coldsore patches... I really think they're a godsend! But if its been there for 2 months, I do think you should see a doctor about it!

Is there a chance that it's not a cold sore but is instead impetigo? Definitely go see a doctor. I can sympathise as I get cold sores a lot and have one at the moment (the damn changing weather isn't helping!)
