So long story short, my family got an inheritence and in the persons will it stated all profit should go to help me and my sister.

Anyway I am 23 now and just did my first year at uni, my mum gave me support (about 3.5k) and i did well in my first year. Anyway in summer break she said i'll have to get a job next year.

I'm already in a warehouse job, barely scraping by and know I can't afford uni. I asked if I could take a loan out of the inheritence (i get 30% at age 25 anyway) and she said no.

Her reason is there is inheritence tax (about 20k a year) and the business earns about 50k and this doesnt leave enough left to lend me 4k/year.

Its annoying because the business means our household income disqualifies me from any grants.

You should explain it to her, show her all of your expenses and just be blunt. Your not wrong and you sound like you need help. If that don't work, talk to the unis and student finance and see what they can do. Don't hide anything and if you can provide proof that your being supported in any way then that could help your case.

If anything, you might have to move back home and see what happens, if that doesn't work then you might have to take a gap year to sort out your expenses, that will not affect you in anyway and employers will not be put off.

    Good luck!!!
    hope this helps
