Neckerchiefs are fetching.

Reply 2

clothes that are fitted and add a bit of shape can make a great amount of difference.

as long as they feel comfortable with what they are wearing and it suits them as a person then i like it.

i also like girls who have a bit of the wacky side and wear something obscure.

one thing i definitely am NOT keen on is the thong over the top of the trousers style... looks god damn awful (not so bad if its French knickers... looks a bit more stylish)

Interesting! I got told by some friends that my neckerchiefs made me look old, but I think they can be rather sexy - they add a little French touch to things :wink:

if it makes you look like youve really tried thats lame (i mean for normal wear. if you're going out then obviously you need to look like you've tried!). stuff that makes it look like youve tried too hard (for a normal day) includes painting nails, funny little dumb obscure adornments, anything non-casual / non-comfy.

fitted tops work wonders. what's printed on the tshirt, or what colour, is almost irrelevent, just as long as it fits a good shape. black fitted tops are even more sexy. skintight jeans make me cringe.

slutty stuff sucks in every circumstance (double meaning unintended)

i am describing nice clothes for girls who are good looking without clothes anyway. for those unlucky people who look worse without clothes than with them on, the advice will be completely different. for pretty girls, clothes embellish and attract and seduce; otherwise they hide and delude. its a sad world. but if you dont have a nice figure underneath, you're not going to want anything fitted.

i mean thats the point, these things we hang on ourselves are there to exaggerate whats good and hide whats bad (on a cosmetic level). the answer to the thread's question is "depends on whether you're hiding or seducing, whether you're sexy ANYWAY underneath or a bit lacking".

there's nothing uglier than a girl who DOESN'T have the figure/looks wearing something meant for someone much better-looking. i know its harsh but thats just the reality of it. adorning yourself just makes you look worse if the basics like your figure/skin/face/hair are yucky.

I really agree with that.

Non-casual is a relative term though. I'm NOT comfy in really casual stuff like jeans and hoodies. I am, however, comfortable in skirts and cute flats or heels (well the latter to an extent :p: ) Hence I like wearing those things. :smile:

What's your stance on tights then men?

IMO:

sheer = sexy
fishnets = pretty sleazy
opaque = functional, possibly cute if worn with nice shoes.
footless = NO.

Anyone agree? (let's not turn this into a discussion about footless tights tho, please :smile: )

my stance on tights:

if you have long legs like me, they are incredibly uncomfortable. Hold-ups or stockings all the way.

replace 'tights' with 'hold-ups' and my views are:

sheer = functional, practical, every-day wear

fishnets = can look hot and not slutty at all, if worn in a subtle way, for example i like to wear them with a tweed skirt in winter

opaque = can be cute if worn with the right shoes, can be practical and warm if worn with boots

footless = generally, no. although i occassionally agree with leggings, but that's a whole nother story. Anyway, i'm talking about hold-ups here and i've yet to see footless hold-ups :p:

I like to see girl in dresses, long flowing skirts, anything feminine and a bit bohemian.

i think you'd be hard pressed to find a guy who doesn't like that look, to be honest. it appeals to most straight guys i'd say.

Ooo yess, I'm itching to try hold-ups but am terrified I'll stand up at the end ofa supervision or something and they'll accidentally fall to my ankles.

they actually stay up amazingly well, provided you haven't just applied baby oil to your legs the second before you put them on (i've done that before - cue me walking down the stairs in my office of incredibly traditional accountants and causing one of the partners to stammer that my stocking had fallen down...!)

anyway if you're worried about them falling, just buy them in a small size. tbh i'd be more worried about them digging in then falling down!

I'll agree with most of that. Hold-ups are much better than tights for multiple reasons!

sheer = practical everyday wear, but they can also be sexy depending on what they're worn with

fishnets = can look amazing or slutty, depending how they're worn. However, I much prefer lacy hold-ups compared to fishnets - something like these.

opaque = they're functional, and can look really good with the right outfit. The best solution if something like a mini-skirt is to be worn during winter!

footless = urgh, just never. They're not practical, neither do they look particularly good. They could be worn under boots as an alternative to opaque tights, but they should never be worn any other way.

I also like girls in my shirts. Not in a innundo way, but wearing them. But then I'm sure almost all guys would say that too. There is one thing that I like girls in that I don't think many guys paticularly think of when they think what looks good on girls, and that's when they are all wrapped up in a big jumper and a pair of tracky-bees and maybe a scarf and they haven't done their hair and they haven't done their make-up, but there is just something quite honest about how comfortable and real they look. I think that's quite sexy too.

funny you should say that, because honestly i think the sexiest i ever feel is when i'm just wearing like a lacy underwear set, some hold ups and one of my man's white shirts draped over the top. I didn't think most men found this particularly sexy, but it sure makes me feel sexy when i wear it!
