I'm planning to apply for Spanish & Chinese at 3 universities (both languages I already study) and Spanish & German at 2 (German would be ab initio - I've dabbled a bit in my spare time and watched a few films with subs, but not much more).

Anyone got advice for how best to structure a personal statement for this?

I think you need to pick one combination and go from there. Trying to put everything into one PS will show and unis may not take well to that.

I guess just showing your enthusiasm for languages and eagerness to learn more languages should do the trick!
