I got into Cardiff Uni and I will be study computer science with forensic and security. However, after getting my results, I was thinking of taking a gap year to do some web development and also travel abroad to gain some experience working for a relatives small business and by doing so, become a more mature person and more importantly gain skills that I can apply to my degree. But I am a bit worried, as to whether the uni will look at my gap year options in bad way...and might not accept. please advice.

    Thanks

Have you contacted the uni and asked whether they'd be willing to defer your application? That way you won't lose your offer and you'll still be able to take a gap year.
I don't think any unis look at a gap year 'in a bad way', as long as you can show that you did something useful during that time, such as work experience, volunteering, travelling, you can use all your experience to show what skills you've gained and how it'll help you study etc. - basically what you said.
So you should definitely take a gap year if that's what you want, in my opinion
