Okay, I'm in top set maths. I was set for an A, my maths teacher was confident in me, I felt confident in the exams... and I ended up with a D.

    WHAT.
Okay... so, what the hell do I do? I wanted to take math A-level. I'm not joking, I'm so confused on how this has happened I'm scared it's a mistake. Can I get it remarked? Fast????? Oh, and I'm with WJEC by the way.

    Hi,
What I recommend is phoning up the college you are applying to, explain your situation, and ask them to advise you. It depends on what the college's policies are at allowing people to get on their course.
    Best of luck.

I'm sorry that your grade was not what you were hoping for. Was were a particular exam that bought down your overall grade, or were both/all of them around D level? It may be possible to get a remark; new changes in the system mean that a change in mark if the person marking your paper clearly made mistakes or was being unreasonable. In this case it's more likely to have been a mistake than just harsh marking because the maths mark scheme is so straightforward/not subjective, especially if this grade is only reflected in one of your exam papers. As the above poster has said, discuss this with your college, as well as with your current teachers to see what they advise. Information on retakes can be found here.

Check with your exams office or teacher that you have marks for all of the papers you sat and there hasn't been a clerical error that can be resolved. If you are sure that you did better than a D You can and should get it remarked, talk to your exams office today. It should not take long to get the remarked result back, a week or less.
