So I got the post today,

There was a DVD come through today, which did was not addressed to the same address as my address or the same postcode.

What I don't understand is, there are 80 odd houses on my street with the same street address and post code and when the post man posted the letters through my letterbox, all the other letters were the same address and post code, but this DVD was a different address and post code.

How the hell can he make such a blunder?

I've rang the post office and they said you have to pay £10 to get it re posted to the real address of the recipient.

Perhaps it got caught up / stuck to another package?

Don't pay for it to be reposted though - it's not your fault! If it's from Amazon, give them a call, their customer service is great and they'll probably just send the customer another DVD

Why would you open it if it's not got your house number or name on?

Hah, no you don't. It's their cockup, and Royal Mail has to deliver any package to the address on it by law.

OP didn't imply that he opened it, anyway.

For him to know it was a DVD, it's very likely he would have opened it, unless the packaging was clear/see-through. So it's not that ridiculous an assumption to make.
