Does anyone know if this makes sense? I got a C overall in English literature but my course work was an A*, I got a B in one exam and a D in the other. my exam board is AQA and I am sure this should even out to a B??

It depends on your UMS marks.

What this means is that it is likely that your D had a higher percentage of your overall grade. Or that you got a low B/ a* and a low D. It is worth looking at the mark break down and go onto the AQA website and look at how the exams and coursework are divided up.

If you still believe that there may be an issue then speak to your teachers. However, this does just sound like a case of getting a low D in your exam and you ended up with a high C overall.

My son is in a similar situation, but with aqa English Language - he got 'grade 5' (which is the highest grade) in unit 2, unit 3 he got a b (very nearly an A), and unit one, a C. Overall grade was a C. He thought he would have got a B.
