Breakups (again)

Hi forum,

Just wanted some advice really and your views on things. My boyfriend of 5 yrs broke up with a few weeks ago. He was all I wanted, was the best thing that has ever happended to me, and I'm really stuggling to cope. He was my best friend, and wants to remain best friends. I appreciate this is going to be difficult!

He wanted to break it off as he wanted to do his own thing; concentrate on careers etc rather than be in a relationship. I respect his decision, but it doesn't make it easier! Has this happened to anyone; a guy wanting to do his own thing? He says he loves me and the 5 yrs we were together were the best years of his life.

I'm doing all I can to stay sane and trying to keep myself distracted. Its just so hard when hes been my everything for such a long time.

I went through the same thing as u... Read my advice that I've given under "Getting over exes..." Try and get as much as support as u can from friends and family. Trust me, one day you'll get over it... It may take days, weeks or months...For me it took a year!! But its a part of life and just think to yourself that everything happens for a reason...If he did not appreciate u or love u enough to stay with u, then is he really worth it? You'll be fine, just try and keep as distracted as u can... If u need any more support then feel free to send me a private message... Hope that helps... Tc
