I've heard that all college students from 2017 onward will have to choose four subjects at first, but will drop one after a year.
Is this true? Will the subject that gets dropped (after a year) be the student's choice, or just whichever they are predicted the lowest grade in?

it depends on ur school. recently, you can do 3 as levels in year 12 because they want you to focus on your main 3 you will be taking to uni. however, im not quite sure with colleges. they only allow u to do 4 a levels because it would be easier to drop one if u fail one. say u got ABBC , you can drop the subject you got a C in and contine with the ones you passed. This puts you in a safe spot and allows you to change your coursw with the wide range of A levels
