    Do sixth forms take a look at your coursework grades if their higher than your actual grades

    Not really, I'm afraid the overall grade is what's taken into consideration.

    If you haven't got into a sixth form due to slightly lower than you were expecting GCSE results then I would advise contacting them directly to see if they will still let you in.

    Im not too sure whether they do or not. Its the final grade they really care about

    No, they won't even look. They have strict guidelines re what they will and won't consider. If they have lots of applicants who don't meet their requirements and spare places they might let you in even if you don't meet requirements but they won't look at your coursework grades. Best thing to do is to go and chat with them and plead your case.
