Some people don't like being in a relationship. They like to have freedom that a relationship just doesn't provide, or maybe they've just come out of a bad relationship. Other people don't like being in a relationship and consequently don't like being single. It all depends on the person, really.
I had a relationship once.

you get people who say "i am single and loving it" i often wonder if those people are being true to themsleves.

question i have is that is it really that easy or hard to be single for months/ years on end?

Some people like being single. Some people are confident in themselves to be single and don't need to be dependant on someone else all the time..or just even to have to someone tell them they love them constantly.
And consequently they don't have the pressure of having to be attached to someone.

I personally think it's worse when people are serial daters - as in, as soon as they finish one relationship, they jump straight into another one & are never single.

LOL....i know...like some people seriously have no standards.
At first the thought and experience of being single is amazing, after all ; you can just do what you want without wondering what your gf/bf will say,but gradually after a while it gets boring.

I know someone like this, but the reason she does it is that she is an insecure person and hates being alone.
Personally I much prefer being in a relationship. But I wouldn't, like, die if I wasn't.
I think some people do genuinely enjoy being single. It all depends on your mind set. People who are less confident probably do prefer a relationship to 'depend' on.

I used to think that I'd prefer being single but now I want to be in a relationship.

I was in a relationship for nearly 3 years, then we broke up last summer. So I've been single for about a year and in all honesty I've loved it. But I guess it depends on the person.
I've been single for my life and it doesn't feel very difficult. I prefer being alone, although I'm not a total recluse.

I've always loved being single (apart from the odd moment when I think, "I wish I had somebody"), but now I am in a great relationship and it's the best. So I'm happy with either usually.
Depends on your personality as to whether you prefer being single or in a relationship.

I hate it its the worse feeling for me and i feel sooo lowww so yeah i do find extremely hard and just hate it - people start hating being around me because i get so frustrated and negative
I've been single for more or less 18 years, i.e. never had a proper boyfriend.

I've had crushes but not acted on them due to fear of rejection etc.

I sometimes have days where I walk down the street and everybody seems to have an "other half".Then again it's great when you have the freedom to check out any guy you want, not feel guilty for feeling all warm inside when they look up and smile
I enjoy being single.

I've never really been interested in the whole relationships thing. I've never even had any crushes.

To me, it is friendship that is more important.
