This year was my GCSEs, and I want to go to medical school. However the universities I want to go to require 6 GCSEs that are As or higher.
I was expected 4A*s, 3As and the rest Bs. I didn't get the grades I needed. I got 5As and 7Bs. I'm one grade short of medical school. I cried at my school. If I retake a GCSE would the university mind but I'm doing 4 linear A levels too.

Even if you got 6As, they aren't really the grades of a medical school candidate. I got 10A's At GCSE and my school told me that it wasn't worth me applying because it's very common for med students to have several A*'s.
However if you want to do it, as long as you do well at A level I doubt you would need to retake GCSEs. Are your As in Sciences? That would be important. However Plenty of med schools will take you without the 6As. Many don't take them into high consideration but you've certainly wiped out chances of oxbridge I'd imagine. You'll be okay if you're determined to do well.
