It may be August 26th, but is it too late to apply to university? Watch

    I know the question makes me sound like an idiot, which is half true. I didn't apply to university because I felt like I was failing and my grades would have been too terrible for university regardless. They were far better than I thought and now I'm stuck with the likely possibility of waiting a year for university when (to my shock) I'm capable of going on September. On the UCAS website it reads;
    Final deadline for 2016 entry applications -20 September 2016The last date you can submit applications to 2016 entry courses. Applications must arrive at UCAS by 18:00 (UK time). This may mean nothing but I was wondering - is it impossible to apply to university this late?ps. I know I'm a moron for doing it this way, I don't need reminding

    Yes it is, but at this stage in the game there will be nowhere near the full range of choice and you are likely to rush into something just for the sake of it. Accommodation may well be difficult at this late stage as well. Do the thing properly. Put in a carefully researched application for next year and get somewhere you really want to go, after a gap year of maybe making some money to smooth the path.

    Or... You can look at the unis and subjects that are still offering places using the Ucas search tool. If you find one you like, just call them up and tell them your grades and whatnot. If they give you a place then you can make an application through Ucas. There are some Unis that give accommodation guarantees. Also, your student finance might likely be late, depending on how fast it's processed.

    I know someone who also did it at the last minute, 2 days ago. So go for it if that's what you want to do. C:
