Which discipline is more respected in TSR's eyes? Which is more prestigious?

(Specifically asking about the academic discipline here, not careers/salary, not the pros/cons of each undergrad/postgrad course, etc.)

I was going to do a little write-up for both to get the ball rolling, but then I became conscious that I might end up 'plagarising' my personal statement which I'll have to write very soon.

It would likely depend on what STEM course, astrophysicist v law I would say astrophysicist

    What makes you say that?

And which STEM disciplines would you place below Law, and why?

More prestigious? Depends on the institution and the subject.

Someone graduating Magna *** Laude in Harvard Law is going to have higher prestige than someone getting a gentleman's degree in IT at the Open University.

Prior to graduation, it still depends on the institution and the subject. Law PHD at Cambridge vs Mathematics PHD at Warwick? It's a coin toss.

However, there is a glut of lawyers around at the moment while a dearth of STEM graduates. Barring the very top end, STEM gains more prestige.
