I have done a GCSE in core science in year 10 and I have received my final Grade. I got an :
    A - from my coursework
    B - Biology
    B - Chemistry
    B - Physics

I'm okay with these grades but I was one mark away from A in chemistry and two marks away fro A in biology. If I did get these extra marks it would make my final grade an A and I feel like that would have made a massive difference when I apply to college in a few months.

Do colleges look at the points awarded in exams as well as the grades received?

No, they just look at the grades as in your B's. Most sixth forms/colleges will take you in the course you want to do if you need a good grade in the sciences.
