I'm at a really good school. Yet, they select A Levels for you, not considering your wishes. I got subjects for law; yet I wish to do medicine. The subjects the school offered me were Politics, History and Maths. I want to do Biology, Chemistry, Maths and History. So, I got two of the four subjects. Would it be worth taking Biology and Chemistry privately?

That is probably the most ridiculous thing I've heard... Why can't you change schools? It will be a massive workload if you decide to do those A levels plus a few privately...

Change schools. If what you say is true (and it's not that you failed to get the GCSEs you needed for Chemistry and Biology) then it is not a good school.

They select your A-levels for you? I've never heard of this before. Not sure I agree with you that it's a 'good school' then! Do they decide your degree for you as well? That's what they're doing effectively! If you can't change school you almost have no alternative then to study privately.
