Hi- When I got my English Literature result I was really upset because I needed at least a B to do A level, and surprisingly it states that I got a C when I was predicted A's. I actually think that AQA have got the wrong result written. I followed their UMS conversion spreadsheet online and when I actually entered the number 45 for the 1 unit it says I got a B when my exam sheet says a D! My exam was GCSE/B English Literature Unit 1H and in the breakdown under the column under Mark Equiv it has 45 D- but I think the D should be a B. Please help. :-(

Are you sure you're not mixing UMS marks and raw marks?

I don't think I am. Do you know whether the numbers that they state next to the unit marks are UMS or Raw? Thanks for replying :-)

If English Literature is what you are passionate and are determined to do it at A level, there are other colleges that will take you on the course with a grade C. At the end of the day that's a pass and there's still everything to play for OP.

Well, don't be too alarmed - GCSE results in English and Maths were devastatingly low this year, like an all time low.

If your teachers knew you were predicted As and got constant As in mock exams and assessments, surely they would speak to whoever's in charge and tell them you should be allowed to study it?

The mark on your sheet are UMS marks. You entered the raw mark of 45 into the converted so it said grade B. However, you got the UMS mark of 45 which is a D.
